Living a Life in Colour

“Scientists think that the brain gets bored after it has sampled the same old flavor, and that it turns off the flavor receptors. Jolt the brain with a new sensation, and it switches the sensory circuits back on.” by Daniel Zwerdling “The Gastronauts” Gourmet

The inspiration for Mei man Ren sheng came from the questions and remarks I get from my Chinese family and friends in China about Italy. Of course, anyone can enjoy Mei man Ren sheng as the site is also in English but you will notice constant references to China…

Italy is one of my favourite places in the world and I want to translate their recipes to share my love for Italy and Italian food.

Many people only think of luxury goods- Gucci, Dolce Gabanna, Miu Miu, Prada, Zegna, Bottega Veneta, Salvatore Ferragamo, etc. when they think of Italy. This is a HUGE mistake. Language is a serious barrier as outside these boutiques and other businesses catering to tourists, most Italians don’t speak Mandarin and, in general, prefer to speak Italian.

Here I have created a guide so that you can comfortably order in an Italian restaurant, know what the ingredients are, and then can make those dishes again for friends and family when you get home. Enjoy!

I love comments and suggestions  (see etiquette ), please feel free to drop me a line.
